LEGAL STATUS 

On 23rd October, 2016 affiliated Units of Haryana Olympic Association convened a requisition Meeting of General Body of HOA , in which new office bearers of Haryana Olympic Association has been elected for the next term of Four Years under the observation of IOA Observer. 

Shri Abhay Singh Chautala, INLD MLA from Elanabad has been elected as President and Shri Bijender Singh Lohan as Secretary General along with other office Bearers unanimously. 

The elected body of HOA headed by Shri Abhay Singh Chautala is legal and authentic body of HOA duly affiliated with Apex Body of Olympic Movement in India, the Indian Olympic Association.   


Haryana Olympic Association is an Autonomous Body of Sports in Haryana State which is duly affiliated with Indian Olympic Association [http://www.olympic.ind.in/]since 1966 with the birth of State of Haryana. Its first President was Mr. B S Rosha, IPS and he headed the Association till 1969. The Association is working for the promotion of sports in the State of Haryana. 

In the year 2006 Congress MP and Industrialist Mr. Naven Jindal, along with another MP Mr. Jaiprakash and MLA Mr. Anand Singh Dangi and DGP Mr. P V Rathi with the help of Haryana Police and Muscle men forcefully occupied the Haryana Olympic Bhawan at Panchkula and office of the Haryana OlympicAssociation and tried to remove Mr. Abhay Singh Chautala from his post.[http://www.tribuneindia.com/2006/20060507/haryana.htm#3] The case is under litigation in the court of Law.[http://indiankanoon.org/doc/995407/] However the Indian Olympic Association stands besides the Haryana Olympic Association headed by Mr. Abhay Singh Chautala, MLA.[http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/more-sports/others/Haryana-state-body-blasts-Kalmadi-Co/articleshow/7307687.cms]   The Forged case against Mr. H S Bhadu has been filed by Haryana Police later Mr. Bhadu get bail from High Court [http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2006-06-16/chandigarh/27830398_1_hoa-pv-rathee-haryana-olympic-association] and the honorable High Court of Punjab and Haryana issued notice to Mr. Param Veer Rathi, IPS.

On 8 October,2008 Panchkula Court restrain Mr. Abhay Singh Chautala to use the name and banner of Haryana Olympic Association. Both the factions wen to the IOA with their papers. IOA referred the matter of HOA to Disputes and Affiliation Commission of IOA under Chairmanship of Mr. R K Anand, Senior Advocate and President, Jharkhand Olympic association. After hearing both the factions several times. Mr. R K Anand given his verdict in favour of Mr. Abhay singh Chautala and he condemns the act of Haryana Government by interfering in the Activites of Haryana Olympic Association(HOA), which hurts the autonomy of State Olympic Association. On 12 February, 2011 in the General Body Meeting of IOA held at Ranchi the General House adopted the Report and verdict of Disputes and affiliation Commission of IOA, and once again IOA recognized Mr. Abhay Singh Chautala as President of Haryana Olympic Association.[http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-02-14/india/28543137_1_hoa-ioa-pv-rathee] 

Since its birth Haryana Olympic Association is participating in the National Games and rising high every national Games in Medal Tally. In 33rd national Games held at Guwahati in February, 2007 Haryana was placed 5th in Medal Tally with a Total of 80 Medals. whereas in 34th National Games held at Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur in February, 2011 Haryana was placed at 3rd Number with 115 Medals.
